So we are about to embark upon a very big adventure. One I'm severely ready for may I add (being in this one bedroom apartment in waiting while passports/ visa stuff came in has been no treat).... A. I've been homeschooling 2 of my 3 girls. B. Did I mention we went from 3 bedrooms for 5 people to 1. Not even one mind you it is somewhat of a studio/1bedroom ish situation. So moms can understand no more details needed.
We have decided as a family to give European travel/living a try. The first leg of our trip is really just for mental morale. We as a family need a new scene. We will be backpacking and tent camping through a few countries (some apartment stays as well since in some countries it's actually cheaper). And then we will end up in The UK to hunker down for a totally different winter than used to (we are California kids)...
We are fueled with love, and appreciation for this blessing. We are guided by our friends that have explored before us. My lovely cousin Tereasa, and a few of Donny's friends are giving us the must knows.
We are equipped with insurance (so stop worrying family) as well as really smart kiddos that know what they need to do to stay safe (and laser focused momma). We have plans a-c but don't really want to have too many plans so to keep it low stress. We realize with the world the way it is there are things happening out of our control, but we want to come from a place of love and not fear. We want our children to experience the world, and in regards to problems they are everywhere.
Our only hope with blogging this info is to inspire other folks to travel as well as let you all know how to do it the earthy way. Meaning as per usual me debunking the "must have travel needs"..... We must have very little, other things would surely make it more convenient but are they needed!
Here's a briefing on where we are going:
Sweden
Germany
France
Italy
Spain
Ending in U.K.
We will be tent camping, hostel staying, hotel stays (only 3 nights I believe here and there for acclimation splurge nights).
A couple apartment stays, as well as visiting Eco villages during our journey. Once we land in the U.K. In the fall we will be gearing more towards schooling for girls and delighting in having actual seasons.

Donny will also be blogging so standby for his info as well.
We leave the end of April so stay tuned.
Next post is all about packing. And how we got it all into a backpack per person, where to buy and what we are bringing.
Tread lightly.
❤️Mel
