10 day Juicing it up Cleanse

 



 So here we go, as promised we are starting our 10 day juice cleanse today!!!  Remember to drink plenty of water and try to exercise 30 minutes a day!!!  If you are aiming for real weight loss...  Of course weight loss would be marvelous but I am more interested in cleaning my little liver and readying my body for the new season.  I didn't know why I started this on Labor day, seeings how vegan sausage and biscuits was bought and are being made for the rest of my family this morning ;) oy vey!!!  Did I mention I am an eater ;).... But when is a good time?..  Never really, it's up to us to have a little will power and get 10 days under our belt.. :)
Some notes:

Rinse all veggies if not organic in veggie wash
Times recipe by 3 so that you have enough for 3 meals and extra for snack!!!
Cut off the ends of carrots, and clean kale realllll well... Also always juice citrus by hand and add in, juicers can't juice citrus properly....  peel ginger root...  Everything else you can just cut in half and juice skin and everything else included....  Also for the 10 days do not drink coffee or alcohol of course....  Even the addicts out there just don't do it ;)  If you just have to just have to I will give ya 1 cup of green tea...  I myself will  be drinking mother's milk tea throughout to keep a milk supply for my sweetie pie...  You are cleansing!!!!  If you are the kind of person who has snack attacks and fear that you will quit all together to be able to snack on something...  Snack on apples and carrots!!!!  That is all!!!  You can do it pals!!!  When I have the will power talk to myself I always say "Mel you birthed two children naturally, if you can do that you can do anything"....  I also reflect on people in other countries that eat far less for far longer then 10 days, I can do this!!! :)

I am an avid everyday juicer, I like to have a meal a day completely comprised of raw organic veggies my favorites include kale,beet, carrot.. You name it I have probably tried it. I have not done a juice cleanse in over 3 years due to procreating and nursing. Now that Daphne my 21 month old nursling is eating actual food food and although still a vigorous nurser I can be assured that the majority of her nutrients are from food and not my boob!!! So I think now is the time to somewhat reclaim my body and start anew!!  


So let's get ready to rumble folks....  These recipes were adapted from this website:


Day 1
Makes about 16-20 oz of juice depending on juicer and produce size.
•    1 bunch of kale
•    4 stalks of celery
•    1 cucumber
•    2 granny smith apples
•    1/2 a lemon
•    1 inch ginger root


Day 2

3 organic carrots
2 organic apples
1/2 a lemon
1 small piece of ginger

Day 3

This will be a rougher day in the taste department
Makes about 16-20 oz of juice depending on juicer and produce size.

•    2 large cucumbers
•    1 bunch cilantro
     1 bunch of fresh thyme
•    1 lime
•    1 cup coconut water (mix in after juicing the rest of the stuff)
juice citrus by hand and add, juicer can not juice citrus properly!!



Day 4

This will be the roughest day!!! This is the kick the metabolism in to full speed juice!!!  Only one day of your life you can hang ;)
Makes about 16-20 oz of juice, depending on juicer and produce size.
•    1/2 head romaine (about 6 leaves)
•    1/2 head cilantro
•    1 cucumber
•    3 romaine tomatoes
     2 stalks celery
•    1/2 a jalapeno, seeds removed
•    1 clove garlic
•    1/2 small onion
•    1/2 lemon
•    small piece of ginger

This bad boy will put hair on your chest but don't skip this day ;)

Day 5
Makes about 16-20 oz of juice depending on juicer and produce size.
•    1 apple
•    1 lime
•    1 lemon
     1 cucumber
•    1/2 cup basil
•    small handful of fresh mint leaves
juice citrus by hand and add, juicer can not juice citrus properly!!


Day 6
You made it half way you are Rad!!!
Another metabolism booster but tastier!!
•    1 grapefruit
•    1 green apple
•    1 head of kale
•    4 celery stalks
•    1/2 cucumber
•    1 lime
Make sure to squeeze grapefruit juice into juice mixture at the end.  The juicer doesn't juice citrus!!!



Day 7
Makes about 16-20 oz of juice depending on juicer and produce size.
•    2 beets
•    1 large carrot or 2 medium carrots
•    1/2 a green apple
•    1/2 cucumber
•    3 celery stalks
•    1 small piece of ginger

Day 8
You are the bomb....  You are almost there and here is a yummy one to celebrate!!!
•    2 pears
•    1 orange
•    4 cups spinach
•    1 cup basil
•    1 small piece of ginger

Day 9
• This one is super yummy as well to get you happy about your accomplishment• • •
1 1/2 cups fresh pineapple
4 stalks celery
1/2 head kale
1 small piece of ginger

Day 10
The seal the dealer....  You are amazing and have cleansed the crap out of your liver...
•    1 grapefruit
•    1 green apple
•    1 head of kale
•    4 celery stalks
•    1/2 cucumber
•    1 lime
     8 strawberries!!!

Make sure to squeeze grapefruit juice into juice mixture at the end.  The juicer doesn't juice citrus!!!

You will notice when the 10 days conclude that your stomach has shrunk a tad which will help with portion control "Americans Big Problem"  as well as your taste buds will have changed.  You will want more whole foods, your taste buds will have come alive...  ;0)  Your skin will feel more supple and your energy level will have most likely gone thru the roof...  A win win situation...

This will be an updated post since I am probably going to have something to say about each day.. ...  I am starting now ;0)  Tread Lightly!!!
