February Earthy Style Picks~ Activewear themed!

Did you know that more than 50% of activewear companies use sweat shops?

Yikes Right!  Now most of the companies are never called out on these offenses, and when they do get called out  Companies usually use the age old excuse "I had no idea"....  As a consumer it is our duty to know!  It would take less time for you to research some fair trade items then you think!  We need to be thinkers, and we need to feel some sort of humanity!

The US Department of Labor defines a sweatshop as a factory that violates two or more labor laws, such as those pertaining to wages and benefits, child labor or working hours. In general, a sweatshop can be described as a workplace where workers are subject to extreme exploitation, including the absence of a living wage or benefits, poor working conditions, and arbitrary discipline, such as verbal and physical abuse. Since sweatshop workers are paid less than their daily expenses, they are never able to save any money to improve their lives. They are trapped in an awful cycle of exploitation.

When it comes to activewear it is quality over quantity anyways, so grab a few things that are earthy instead of tons of junk that falls apart just so you can look sassy at the gym!

All items vegan, fair trade, organic cotton and lovely!  These are my favorite ways of being active!

Running is a newer endeavor for me but turning into something I dig which is a huge suprise!  These picks are super comfy and earthy!

Because I am a dork these sparkle tennis skirts are a trend I will get behind!  Vintage, vegan, items!

There is nothing better than a good ole hike in my opinion!  My girls and I love going and collecting things for our adventure book!  These items are breathable and comfy as well as cruelty free, fair trade and cute!  The pants are amazing for a early hike because they truly keep you warm but breath when it warms up!  My fave!

Golfing is something that I have done for a while now, especially once I got married to a true Golfer!  These looks appeal to me because I love wearing dresses and skirts.  And I have found when I golf skirts make me more flexible.  And I think it is cute to look like and old English lady!  I have heard it a ton and am okay with it! ;)  These items are all vegan, even the amazing golf bag.  Organic cotton hat and shirt and a vintage skirt.

We are a bike riding family fo sho!  We ride everywhere as in strolling and serious cycling depending on our moods.  These items will assist you in comfort and are actually cute, which cycling threads are usually not in my book.  Organic cotton, vegan, and divine!

Yoga is my one stop shop for happiness, my body and my mind feel nice after!  And although I like the tight pant thing, I like my shirts to be baggy and lovely!   Vegan and fair trade, organic cotton can't beat that!

Please consider where your active-wear is coming from, all too often they are coming from factories where employees do not earn their fair amount.  Be and earthy and informed consumer.  If any of the items catch your eye please message me so I may connect you with the shop or link!   Tread lightly!
