hOME mADE dEODORANT

mISS Orli Bloom certainly has her preferences.  Unfortunately for me (well more like my family and the general public) Orli prefers not nursing amidst the smell of anything scented (as in if I am wearing deodorant she AInt nursing).  Once I noticed this little quirk in my newest babe I stopped wearing my go to deodorant.  I bought unscented soon after but was noticing that the unscented was not working.  I would have a wafting scent of chicken noodle soup when wearing unscented deodorant.  Not so cute.  Not sure if its hormonal, or my increase of coffee intake since having 3 children, but whatever the case I went back to the drawing board to make my own deodorant.  I have dabbled in deodorant making before and was not successful.  Its tricky to get the right amount of PH balance since everyone's body is so different.  But for me I have finally found the right amount of all the ingredients to make a natural deodorant that actually works.

Here is the recipe, again it works for me.  I consider it a stronger deodorant.  If you are a perspire er (is that a word :)  like myself this is the recipe for you.  I use to do the same recipe with 2 tbs of each arrow and baking soda, but I am having to up the amount of those two ingredients now to get a stronger deodorant.  Through some trial and error this is truly the one that works.

1/4 cup arrowroot
1/4 cup baking soda
5 tbs Coconut Oil
If you would like scented add 10 drops of essential oils

Put all ingredients in a mason jar and stir until all ingredients are incorporated.  Store in a cool place to solidify, will last up to 3 months.  You must keep the deodorant in cool environment if possible.  You can also put deodorant in a reusable deodorant container, those can be bought on amazon   http://www.amazon.com/Deodorant-Twist-up-Empty-Containers-Natural/dp/B00BR15NVC/ref=sr_1_sc_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1418967080&sr=8-3-spell&keywords=deodoant+containes
If using containers just spoon in and make a nice level top, and let solidify and just twist deodorant up for use.

Hope this works for you as well.
